  • 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 5-6 Tsp Corn Flour

Method –

Take a bowl and add turmeric powder and corn flour of your choice.

Mix well until the mixture becomes yellow.

Strain it in another bowl after a good mix. Baby powder can be added, if you need more fragrance. This how you can make more homemade holi colors by adding different things.

Option 2. Orange Marigold + Flour

Ingredients –

  • 2 Cup Orange Marigold Flowers
  • 6-7 Tsp Corn Flour
  • Rose or Kesar Water

Method –

Grind orange marigold flower petals with normal water. Strain it and transfer into a bowl.

Take another bowl and add corn flour, flower water, rose or kesar water. Mix it well. Mixture should be in powder form not in a dough form.

If the powder is watery, add more corn flour. Let it dry overnight or in sunlight.

Strain it to make it lump free. You can add baby powder for fragrance.

2. PINK COLOR

Option 1. Beetroot + Flour

Ingredients –

  • 1 Medium Beetroot
  • 4-5 Tsp Corn Flour
  • Water as required

Method –

Peel beetroot and grind it with water. You can buy beetroot, spinach & carrot powder from amazon. Strain the mixture in a bowl.

Take different bowl, add corn flour and beetroot water according to the requirement.

Mix it well. Mixture should not be in batter or dough form. Make it dry in sunlight, leave it overnight or oven it. Strain the powder again to make it lump free.

Add baby powder for the fragrance and smoothness. Homemade holi color is ready to use.

Option 2. Beetroot 

Ingredients –

  • 1 Big Beetroot

Method –

Wash and peel the beetroot. Cut it into thin slices or order beetroot powder online. On a clean cotton cloth, spread all the slices and dry in sunlight completely or you can microwave or oven it.

3. GREEN COLOR

Option 1. Spinach + Flour

Ingredients –

  • Handful of Spinach
  • 4-5 Tsp Corn Flour
  • Water as required

Method –

Wash the spinach and put it in a blender. Blend the spinach completely with the help of water or get the spinach powder.

Strain the mixture in a bowl. Now, take a separate bowl, add corn flour and pour little spinach water. Mix both flour and spinach water well. This mixture should not be in liquid form. It seems or feels like as hard as pebbles.

Let the mixture dry overnight or in sunlight. Strain the mixture again to get a smooth powder.

Option 2. Spinach

Ingredients –

  • 1/2 kg Spinach
  • 4-5 Tsp Flour (Optional)

Method –

Chop the spinach and give it a good wash. On a clean cotton or other sheet, spread all the chopped spinach. Dry it completely in the sunlight for 1,2 days or oven it.

Grind it into a fine powder. Strain it in a bowl to get a smooth powder. By adding corn flour, you can increase the quantity.

4. PURPLE OR BROWN COLOR

Option 1. Rose + Flour

Ingredients –

  • 2-3 Cup Red or Brown Rose
  • 4-5 Tsp Corn Flour
  • Water as required

Method –

Gently wash all the red rose petals. Add some water and rose petals in the blender. Blend it well. Strain the rose water in a bowl.

Take a different bowl. Add corn flour and pour rose water according to the requirement.

This mixture should be hard but not in the form of dough. Dry this mixture overnight or sunlight it.

The color is depend on the quantity of the rose. The more you use, the darker the color you get.

Option 2. Rose

Ingredients –

  • 4-5 Cup Red or Brown Rose
  • 3-4 Tsp Corn Flour (Optional)

Method –

Gently wash the red or brown rose petals. Dry it in sunlight or microwave.

Ingredients –

  • 2-3 Cup Blue Hibiscus Or Pea
  • 3-4 Tsp Corn Flour
  • Water as required

Method –

Wash the blue pea or blue hibiscus gently and blend it with the help of water.

Strain the mixture into an empty bowl. Take another bowl and mix corn flour and flower water.

Mixture should be hard as pebbles. Dry it overnight or you can microwave. Strain this dry powder again so that you will get fine & smooth powder for your baby.

Option 2. Blue Pea Flowers

Ingredients –

  • 3-4 Cup Blue Pea
  • 4-5 Tsp Corn Flour (Optional)

Method –

Dry the flowers in sunlight, oven or microwave, after washing the flowers.

Option 1. Turmeric + Red Sandalwood Powder

Ingredients –

  • 3-4 Tbsp Turmeric
  • 2 Tsp Red Sandalwood Powder
  • 2-3 Tsp Corn Flour (Optional)

Method –

Mix turmeric and red sandalwood powder together. You can add corn flour, which is completely optional. Mix the mixture well.

Strain the mixture into a fine powder. Homemade orange holi color is ready to use.

Option 2. Orange Marigold + Flour

Ingredients –

  • 2-3 Cup Orange Marigold Flower
  • 3-4 Tsp Corn Flour
  • Water as required

Method –
